November 3, the 2020 National Science and Technology Award Promotion Conference was held in Beijing and four HBIS projects won National Science and Technology Awards. 4 million-ton Indirect Coal Liquefaction Technology and Application wins the first award. Ultra-low Emission Control Technology and Application of Multi-process Multi-pollutant in Iron and Steel industry, Surpressing Technology and Applications of Solidification Procedure in Continous Casting, and Development and Application of Oxidation Behavior Control Technology in Hot Rolling Process win second awards. This is a historic breakthrough for HBIS to achieve high-quality development with technological innovation.
HBIS 4million-ton Indirect Coal Liquefaction Technology wins the National Science & Technology Progress Award by solving a major problem in indirect coal liquefaction process. HBIS technology inclusives theoritical studies, equipment manfacturing and their domestications. Already, one of the world’s largest, 4million-ton per year indirect coal liquefaction project has been operation. Within 37 key technologies of the project, HBIS developed SA387Gr11CL2 high purity hydrogen bearring & extra high thickness plates to manufacture the Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis Reactor, a core equipment in the project. The HBIS new steel has low sulphur, low phosphorus and high tenacity to withstand 24-hour 675℃ environment. A long time weld simulation shows its -10℃ impact toughness is no lower than 80J. All these efforts contribute to a 100% domestic production of the 4million-ton project steel materials and stop the limits of foreign suppliers.
Ultra-low Emission Control Technology and Application of Multi-process Multi-pollutant in Iron and Steel industry, is a joint project developed by Institute of Process Engineering CAS, MCC ACRE Coking & Refractory Engineer and Sinosteel Day to provide extra low emission technology to Chinese steel industry. The technology adopts source reduction-process control-terminal management, a full process control concept to develop an optimized BF feed plan, sulphur and phosphorus reduction, activated carbon reverse cycle duct reduction of intering/pellet gases, low temperature sulphur and SCR phosphorus reduction technology, converter gas partical electric dust bag coupling gathering technology to build a ultra low multiple pollutant emission technology system to reduce the energy costs and emission of Steel industry, providing key support to the green development of the industry.
Applications of Solidification Procedure in Continous Casting is very good for the current Chinese steel industry of one producting line making multiple products with high efficiency, low cost and stable capabilities of large formation steel products. HBIS studies heavy surpressing technologies of high thickness plates and their equipment manufacturing. The world’s first continuous, dynamic heavy surpressing high thickness & width slab line is already in production, comprehensively improving the large section homogeneity and density of continuous slabs and a new way of low rolling surpress ratio to high end and large dimension products. This technology has been adopted by different steel mills to product high strength construction steel to build Beijing Daxing International Airport project.
